ONECAMP 2026

THE DAILY ONECAMP

Vote now for the best Onecamp gateway

Competition is heating up in the search for the best OneCamp gateway.

Voting yesterday saw a top eight – two Subcamps from each Village – going head-to-head, with four gateways progressing to the final four. Voting is now open on the OneCamp Instagram and Facebook pages.

Representing the Coastlines Village is C03 with its shark-inspired design.

‘The shark is called Tailor Shark,’ explains Hanelei, Rory and Ted, Scouts from Well Station (ACT) and Tilda from Darlington.

‘Our Unit Council wanted something coastal, and we voted on sharks.’

Baby Shark is our Subcamp theme song.’

Down the road at W07, a Shrek-themed gateway was selected as the most creative in the Swamp Village.

According to Elijah, a Cub from Kwinana, Harvey, a Cub from Esperance, and Rhiannon, a Venturer also from Esperance, coming up with the design was a collaborative process.

‘Each of our Units brainstormed ideas and we then voted on them at Unit Council.’

‘It took three days to paint. People have been coming by and asking where Donkey is.’

The Girl Guides gateway of B02 transports OneCamp to an enchanted forest.

Koala, a Guide Leader from Armadale, said that the Guides designed the gateway at their pre-camp.

‘It’s made from pool noodles and lots of expanding foam.’

‘We’ve got fairies, mushrooms and toddstools, and everything lights up at night.

The gateway of O11 in the Outback Village builds on their Vegemite themed design from OneCamp 2023.

‘We wanted something that represents the outback, down under, an Aussie icon,’ said Milly, a Venturer from Goollelal Greenwood, Annabelle, a Venturer from Duncraig, and Carissa, a Venturer from Palm Beach in Queensland.

‘We have two dropbears – Baden and Powell – which are pretty menacing, but as you know, drop bears are allergic to Vegemite.’

Voting closes Friday 5:00 PM.
