ONECAMP 2026

THE DAILY ONECAMP

Pioneer: Getting back to basics

The Pioneer activity base, located near the Main Stages, gives Scouts a chance to practice their bushcraft skills and step back in time.

‘The idea is to learn different cooking techniques, be challenged in engineering and knots, and test their teamwork skills,’ explains Glenn, an Adventurous Activities Leader.

Participants get to cook a meal, practice their knots, climb a rope bridge, and visit the WA Heritage Team.

‘It was good, we made noodles,’ said Max, a North Beach Cub from B03.

‘I liked how we got to choose what went in the meal,’ added Andrew, also from North Beach.

‘And it tastes really good!’

Yasmine, an Albany Guide from B02, was spotted by THE ONECAMP DAILY reporters braving the rope bridge.

‘It bounced a lot,’ Yasmine explained as she made her way safely across the bridge.

‘I had never done something like that before.’
