Aim high at the Curiosity Zone, where you can try your hand at archery and hatchet throwing, and learn about traditional First Nations food and medicine.
Archery is proving popular with the Joeys and Cubs, who practised their skills and learned about range safety under the watchful eyes of the Archery Team.
‘It was amazing!’ said Mia, a 6th Melbourne Cub from C08 who had travelled over to Perth for OneCamp.
‘But I knew it would be fun, my dad taught me how to do archery.’
‘I just like shooting a bow,’ added Ellen, a Rossmoyne Shelley Cub also from C08. ‘And I got one arrow on the target!’
Over at hatchet throwing, two Cubs were explaining to THE DAILY ONECAMP the secret to getting their axes to hit the targets.
Both Cubs said they had already hit the target 15 times.
‘I like to step forward when I throw,’ explained Archie, an Eastern Hills Cub from C03, as he demonstrated his technique.
‘The axe wants to curve when you throw it,’ warned Blake, also from Eastern Hills.
