ONECAMP 2026

THE DAILY ONECAMP

Mariner: Sink or Swim

OneCamp participants will hit the water at the Mariner activity base, offering a chance to stay cool and develop their Outdoor Adventure Skills.

Youth members can enjoy an hour and a half canoeing on the beautiful Swan River/Derbal Yaragan with their Patrol.

‘It was very fun, we had a great time,’ said Ben from Balhannah Scout Group in South Australia.

‘We played a couple of games in the canoes – netball and fruit salad. I came third in the race.’

‘Sometimes people tipped out of the canoe and it was funny,’ added Charlotte from Warnbo Wagtail Girl Guide Unit.

When they are not canoeing, participants can enjoy a wide range of land-based water activities, including a slip ‘n slide, water science, mini raft building, and saving rubber duckies.

‘Mariner is about discovering water in more than one way,’ explains Robin, who leads the activity base.

Participants are reminded to arrive at the activity dressed for water activities, and to bring water shoes, a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and a snack.
