Ayden’s Selfie Marks OneCamp 2026 Officially Open!

Yesterday, 7pm at the Main Stage, OneCamp 2026 Discover officially kicked off with several very brave Scouts giving speeches and WA Chief Commissioner Ayden Mackenzie doing his usual selfie in front of the over 700 Scouts and Leaders from across Australia at OneCamp.

The Daily OneCamp were surprised that Ayden didn’t wait until the closing ceremony to do his ritual selfie in front of over 2,000 Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders. We are hoping to interview the Chief Commissioner at some point and hoping to get a hold of his selfie.

Once Ayden left the stage, DJ XTINA got the music going and the (potentially blinding) lights flashing. It seemed to be a game of dare as Scouts tried to convince their mates to jump up onto the stage and dance with them. Fortunately getting up onto the stage got a bit less scary as some of the crowd left early to watch the Minecraft Movie at the Mini Stage.

And before anyone asks, yes, one of your The Daily OneCamp team members was brave enough to get up onto the stage.

Hope to see you all at today’s nightly entertainment!
